PSLE Results 2024:

  • Lesotho has a 7-3-2 formal education structure. The primary school has an official entry age of six and a duration of seven grades. Students sit for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) at the end of grade 7. Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECOL) is a non-profit making organization, which is responsible for conducting PSLE examinations and publishing PSLE results.

PSLE Results 2024: Performance

In 2016 total of 40,043 candidates registered for the examination, of these, 38,452 appeared for the examinations, while 1,591 did not turn up for the examinations. Of the 38,452 candidates who sat for the 2016 PSLE examinations:

  • 6,182 (16.1%) obtained a 1st class pass. This marks an increase of 2.4 % from the performance observed in 2015.
  • 10,162 (26.4%) obtained a 2nd class pass. This number has increased by 0.5% from the 2015 results.
  • 17, 234 (44.8%) obtained a 3rd class pass. This reflects a decrease of 2.9% in comparison with 2015 results.
  • 4,874 (12.7%) could not meet the minimum requirements for a pass. This indicates an increase of 0.5% from the performance observed last year.
